Iphone screen repair in Houston should be easy, right? Big city, lots of choices. If you drop your iPhone and the screen gets a crack, you go to a store, they take it off, put a new screen on – BOOM, you’re done. Should be no problem right? Shouldn’t be a big deal.
Except that as the popularity of cellphones has grown, a lot more shady players are opening up “repair” shops in the city. There are some unscrupulous dealers out there who are trying to do repairs with inferior parts and less than professional standards. We’ve already fixed tons of phones that were repaired on Groupon, or at a great price ($80) or something like that.
Some of these vendors offer good service, I’m sure. But be careful. Read the reviews. Yelp and Google are littered with reviews of these shady operators, offering to fix your phone for $49 through Groupon or some other promotion. One reviewer mentioned that the techs were spraying air freshener to cover up what he thought was pot smoke. Whatever. Smoking dope – that’s up to you, in your free time. When you’re fixing my phone, I’d prefer you stay sober.
But here’s the deal. Prices have gone up on iPhone screens in the last six weeks. And they’ve gone up quite a bit. The Chinese economy, which was built on false construction and fake goods produced in massive amounts, is beginning to crumble. And nobody knows for sure what this means for the price of iPhone screen repairs in Houston and the rest of the country.
Since everyone gets their parts from China, every vendor is going to be affected by these changes. So perhaps that changes the landscape from a retail perspective and your iphone screen isn’t quite as cheap.
But we’ll see. The only thing I know for sure is that when the world’s second largest economy craters, it’s definitely going to change things. We just don’t know exactly how. We know there are people doing bad work at cheap prices.
We’ve found bits of wire, plastic parts, Scotch tape and other odd items in phones as some dealers try to do repairs for the lowest cost as parts increase in price.
The longer the prices stay up, the more likely people are going to cut corners to get the business by offering too-good-to-be-true deals and “specials.”
Here’s our special. We do good work at competitive prices. We fix it right so that you don’t have to make a second trip back. That’s peace of mind and worth paying for in my opinion.
All I can say is buyer beware when it comes to iphone screen repair in Houston. Watch out for the scotch tape…!!
